Finished At Last!

Freedom at last! I have finished knitting the Persephone scarf, it was very time consuming, but rewarding at the same time, a beautiful well written pattern was provided so kindly on Smariek's blog, if you have a moment you will be well rewarded by the variety and beauty of her patterns, her blog is entertaining as well. (what more could you ask for?) http://smariek.blogspot.com/ I don't know how she manages to get such good pictures, but here is my attempt at it. I still have to block it and then it will immediately shipped out to a friend.
I have rewarded myself by baking Cherry Scones this morning and topped them with Devon shire cream and Sour Cherry preserves, alas they were not exciting enough to merit a photo, but they were delicious fresh out of the oven and consumed with much joy!

Here is my attempt at the Waving Lace Socks featured on the cover of my Favorite Sock book. so far the pattern has been quite easy to follow. The yarn is from Lorna's Laces and I am using Size 1 needles. This yarn is becoming my favorite sock yarn as it is very easy to work with, I will have to see how it wears.

I was delighted to discover this yarn at Suzoo's, I had brought along my Favorite Sock book ( I am quite enthralled with it, there are so many patterns I want to try) and found the yarn that matches the Diagonal Cross Rib Socks, it will make a handsome pair of socks in the near future.

I found some wonderful yarns on sale at Suzoo's yesterday. The Nature Spun is a sport weight wool and should make some nice socks for my exceptional niece whom I am sure would appreciate warmer socks for winter. Any pattern suggestions would be appreciated.
I am still day dreaming about this yarn and wondering if they may make a nice pair of mitts or an incredible pair of winter socks, this wool is the softest dk weight washable wool.

The scarf looks great! And wow, that's a lot of cables. Should be nice and thick and cozy. :-)

Mmmm, I love scones. My mom used to make them all the time. You're giving me ideas. LOL!

For the sport weight socks, if nothing in Nancy Bush tickles your fancy, how about these:

Your scarf is so rich with cables - I LOVE it! I just started 2 scarves (not as fancy as yours) and am enjoying both.
I think you will be really happy with how Lorna's Laces wears - it is my favorite sock yarn - very durable, but so soft and beautiful too. Your Waving Lace socks will be wonderful!

The scarf looks nice in that color. It took me 2 months to knit my first Persephone Scarf. I can't remember how long it took me to knit the second one, perhaps just as long.

Thanks for reading my blog. I just wanted to give you a heads up that things will look a little weird on my blog for a while, where my posts are written in bad French (because I'm learning French and am not very good at it yet). This is just temporary. There's someone copying my blog posts (and other knitters' blogs too) and republishing them on his blog. My French posts is just an experiment to see whether he'll lose interest in copying my blog after seeing it is no longer in English (since all the blogs he copies are in English language).

My blog posts will eventually revert back to it's normal English self someday soon, I hope.

I thought about temporarily password protecting the blog (or making it private and unreadable) for a few weeks, but I decided not to because I know a lot of people visit my blog for the free patterns and I'd rather not temporarily "close up shop" if I can avoid it.
